Making your page title match your keywords and several other factors is very important.
Google and other Search Engines will be using your page titles to determine content, so you better be accurate.
If your page title is all about your content, you will be fine. There are ways to really increase it's effectiveness though. That is by taking out all the fluff you can. If you are optimizing the words "keyword research", something like "keyword research secrets" would work just fine.
Your page title should get some attention and thought from you, and should reflect your ultimate goal for getting SEO rankings.
Make sure it has the keyword phrase you are trying to optimize for.
