Page Layout
Once you have picked out your Target Keywords probably the most important thing you have total control over is making your website pages. Search Engine Spiders only have so many resources to "read" your pages. That means if your pages are smaller in size they will have more resources to dig further into your site.
Now page size shouldn't be the only thing you think about, you have to give your viewers a rewarding surfing experience of course. So really what you need to do is optimize your images, and use external style sheets when you can. This page you are looking at is CSS controled. CSS or Cascading Style Sheets make it very easy for the spiders to really crawl your site. There aren't any extra "tags" and "tables" to misdirect the search engines.
Making a website is easy, making one that the search engines will eat up is much harder. Learn your design skills, and try to avoid WYSIWYG editors as they add ton's of extra lines and code.
